Sue has held senior academic, management and policy positions in palliative care, nursing, education and standards development at state and national level, including an executive appointment in clinical governance. She has expertise in the areas of quality improvement, patient safety, change management and strategic planning. Sue is an inaugural Co-Chair of the NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) Palliative care Network. In her current role at Calvary Sue is responsible for clinical service delivery, strategic planning, quality improvement and regional service development across Calvary aged, community, acute public and private hospitals and specialist palliative care services across six Australian States and Territories.
Sue is currently responsible for the development and implementation of a whole of organisation strategic approach to the care of people approaching and reaching the end of their life in the care of Calvary services. This work incorporates strategies aimed at early recognition of patients approaching the end of life, as well as the recognition and appropriate response to those patients who are dying.
